Active Principles.

Abundant flavonoids: St. John rutoside, isoquercitrósido, astragalus) tannins Catechists (10 - 15%) acids fenilcarboxílicos (caffeic, chlorogenic) coumarin, saponosides triterpenic oleanano type: virgaureagenósido; heterósidos phenolic: virgaurea A leiocarpa; traces of essential oil.

Drug Action.

The saponosides are responsible for its diuretic action, reinforced by the flavonoids, phenolic acids, an antiseptic effect, the saponosides an antifungal action (even anticandidiásica) act as astringent tannins; the flavonoid, an anti - inflammatory effect. It also presents an action spasmolytic, slightly sedative and hypotensive.

Indications.

Oliguria, edemas, cystitis, urethritis, chronic nephritis, urolithiasis, hyperuricemia, gout, adjuvant treatments for overweight (if accompanied by fluid retention) Diarrhea, anxiety, high blood pressure. In topical use: eczema, skin ulcers and wounds, dermatophytoses. Traditionally has been used as "cleanse" for the treatment of rheumatic and dermatological problems.

Contraindications.

Its use as a diuretic in the presence of hypertension, heart disease or kidney failure moderate or severe, should be done only by prescription and under medical supervision, to the danger that can result in uncontrolled contribution of liquid and the possibility of an uncompensated tension.

Galenica forms / Dosage.

Internal use:

Infusion: One tablespoon per cup dessert. Three or more cups a day.

Fluid extract (1: 1) 30 - 50 drops, one to three times a day.

Tincture (1: 10) 50 - 100 drops, one to three times a day.

Dust encapsulation: 300 mg / capsule, 1 - 2 capsules three times a day.

External use:

Macerate: 40 g / l, macerate for 12 hours. Apply in the form of compresses or washes.
