The root and leaves.

Active Principles

Vitamins B, C, P. Essence sulfur, with glucosinolates. Anthocyanins. Minerals: iodine, magnesium and sulfur.

Drug Action

Aperitif, digestive, colerética, hepatoprotective, expectorant, diuretic, antiseptic, vitamin.

In topical use is rubefaciente.

Indications

Inappetence, dyspepsia hiposecretoras, meteorism, dyskinesias Hepatobiliary, cholecystitis, hepatitis, liver migraines home. Flu, colds, bronchitis, emphysema, asthma, pharyngitis, irritative cough, sinusitis. Cystitis, urolithiasis, rheumatism, gout, scurvy.

In topical use: myalgia, osteo inflammation, eczema.

Contraindications

Gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcer, hypothyroidism (see precautions).

Do not prescribe oral dosage forms with alcohol content to children under two years or consultants in the process of alcohol addiction.

Caution / Poisoning

Among the sulfur compounds present in the radish include the indometilglucosinolato and allyl isothiocyanate. Many glucosinolate present an action antithyroid, inducing goitre, so you want to take caution if it is prescribed for people with predisposition to hypothyroidism.

The allyl isothiocyanate can be irritating the stomach.

Take into account the alcohol content of the extract fluid from the dye and syrup.

Galenica forms / Dosage

- Use a food: Raw in salads.

- Juice: one or two tablespoons, half an hour before meals.

- Fluid extract (1:1): 2 to 6 g / day, taken before meals.

- Tincture (1:10): 50 drops, half an hour before meals.

- Syrup (5% extract fluid), three to six tablespoons a day.

- Dry extract (5:1): 0.2 to 1 g / day.
