Tree of the Rosaceae family, which produces a berry-like black cherries. Its leaves that smell like bitter almonds, contain glycosides cianogenéticos that release hydrogen cyanide, highly toxic substance. However, by distillation of these leaves, you get water from lauroceraso, which has medicinal properties, and is used as an antiemetic (against vomiting), antispasmodic and sedative.
