Active Principles
Resin (10-20%), rich in diterpenos (grindélico acid), phenolic acids: p-hydroxybenzoic, vainílico, p-coumarin, saponosides; flavonoid derivatives quercetol and luteolol.
Drug Action
The saponosides carrying on a expectorant. The phenolic acids produce a spasmolytic, anti-inflammatory and vitamin P (Vasoprotectives) increases resistance and reduces its capillary permeability. The essential oil is bactericidal.
Indications
Gastrointestinal spasms, asthma, bronchitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, pulmonary emphysema, varicose veins, capillary fragility.
Contraindications
Do not prescribe dosage forms with alcoholic content for oral administration in children under two years or consultants in the process of alcohol addiction.
Caution / Poisoning
Take into account the alcohol content of the fluid extract, tincture and syrup.
Galenica forms / Dosage
- Dust: 1 to 2 g / day.
- Fluid extract (1:1): 25-50 drops, one to four times a day.
- Tincture (1:10): 50-100 drops, one to four times a day.
- Syrup (5% extract fluid): One to four tablespoons per day.
